About This Coloring Page

The flag of China, also known as the Five-star Red Flag, is a red field with five golden stars in the upper left corner. The flag has a ratio of 2:3, meaning it is twice as long as it is wide. The red color symbolizes the communist revolution, while the five stars represent the unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The design of the flag was adopted on September 27, 1949, shortly after the establishment of the People's Republic of China. The flag was designed by Zeng Liansong, a citizen from Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. Zeng's design was chosen among thousands of submissions in a national flag design competition. The red color of the flag has historical significance in China. It is associated with the revolution led by the Communist Party, which overthrew the Nationalist government in 1949. Red is also a symbol of good luck and happiness in Chinese culture. The five stars on the flag represent the unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party. The largest star, located at the top left corner, represents the Communist Party itself. The four smaller stars surrounding it symbolize the four social classes of China: the working class, the peasantry, the urban petite bourgeoisie, and the national bourgeoisie. Together, these stars represent the unity and cooperation of all classes in building a socialist society. The flag has undergone some changes over the years. In 1954, the design of the stars was modified to have them point upwards instead of towards the center. This change was made to symbolize the forward progress of the Chinese people. In 1990, the size and position of the stars were adjusted to improve the overall aesthetic of the flag. The flag of China is widely recognized and respected both domestically and internationally. It is flown at government buildings, military installations, schools, and other important locations throughout the country. The flag is also used during national holidays and events, such as the National Day on October 1st, to celebrate the achievements and unity of the Chinese people.
